Decorating Your Samhain Altar 🎃✨
Samhain is now just three weeks away, and you might be getting your altar good and ready for the occasion.. or you're already sneaking decor in, if you're anything like me! Today I thought I'd talk through some Samhain altar ideas incase you're feeling a bit stuck for how to decorate.
Samhain Altar Ideas :
- a cauldron - cast iron is the perfect material for protection and banishing rituals
- candles - orange, red, brown, black or green
- pumpkins - a symbol of prosperity and protection
- ancestral items - connect to your ancestors with pictures and personal items
- bones - a symbol of the dead
- crystals - labradorite, amethyst, smokey quartz, apophyllite + carnelian can all be used for connection to spirit
- divination items - use tarot cards or a pendulum to interpret messages from guides or ancestors
- seasonal items - things like chestnuts or acorns are a wonderful appreciation of nature at this time of the year
- flowers - marigolds, lavender or roses can be used for remembrance and connection to spirits
